Understanding the forces beyond Our walls
Updated: Aug 22
Every Child Should Smile understands that effective community service requires awareness of the social, economic, educational, health, housing, and employment conditions affecting the people we serve. We continually consider changing community needs, emerging educational and workforce trends, healthcare access, reentry barriers, housing instability, family challenges, and shifts in available public and private funding.
Our Path Forward
Our approach extends beyond providing a single service or hosting a one-day event. Through initiatives such as our Back-to-School Bash, youth and families can receive backpacks and school supplies while also connecting with educational resources, health-screening opportunities, family support, mentors, and community service providers.
This holistic model continues through our year-round youth programming, Diamond Workforce Development and Resource Center, Diamond Reentry Village, and Diamond Haven. Together, these efforts connect education, employment preparation, supportive housing, healthcare navigation, reentry assistance, and family-stability resources.
By responding to the needs of the whole person and the entire household, Every Child Should Smile builds lasting trust, strengthens community connections, and creates more meaningful pathways toward stability, opportunity, and long-term success.
